We received a report from a 17- year-old survivor. She reported that she went to Ikotun Market to buy a phone when she discovered it was faulty and proceeded to return the next day. She decided to go to her boyfriend’s place since he got the phone for her. On getting to his place he was not around. She explained that she received a call from one of their neighbours who owns a bike and he insisted that he would carry her to the shop in order to return the phone. While they were going, she explained that she noticed he passed a street she was not familiar with. Upon enquiry, he said that he wanted to quickly see someone, he continued till they got to a compound, which turned out to be a hotel. He paid for the room, after they went in, he pulled her clothes forcefully and raped her while she was shouting and crying for help, he held her neck down. After he succeeded in defiling her, he took her to the market where she bought the phone.
The survivor was provided psycho-education on behavioral concern using CBT, the family of the survivor was also counselled.
The centre processed in getting the perpetrator arrested. The perpetrator was charged to court.
